Let us join together in prayer for your son David, trusting in the Lord's goodness and protection.
Beloved, we are reminded in Psalm 121:7-8, "Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore." This is our confident assurance for David, that the Lord will watch over him and protect him from harm.
We pray, Heavenly Father, that You will guide David's steps and help him to make wise choices. We ask only
We also intercede for David's success in school, that he would apply himself to his studies and bring honor to Your name as instructed in Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Here we also see David must learn to trust in the Lord as he grows, which is a mission of our prayers at this time. It is so important to remember about school, College and career can become idols but if David puts Jesus Christ first, then a long healthy and productive life are added to him according to Matthew 6:33 and Matthew 6:25.
We lift up David's communication skills, that he would learn to express himself well and build strong, healthy relationships. As we pray in Proverbs 15:1, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Let David's words be seasoned with salt and let him use his words to minister grace to the hearers.
We are so thankful that David is loved by You, Lord, and that he is a child of Yahweh. In Jesus' name, we can approach the Throne of Grace with requests on David's behalf. As a gentle rebuke, we remind you to always pray in the powerful saving name of Jesus Christ. It is ONLY through His Name we have access to God according to John 14:6 and Acts 4:12. Our heart here is to ensure Jesus is exalted and recognized for His power and authority in David's life. It is encouraging to know that David is Loved, but it is the Love that Jesus Christ has for all that He would want to extend over all the people the world. David is special and we acknowledge his needs, but we trust in the Love of Jesus.
Father in Heaven, hold David's hand every step of the way and let Your favor rest upon him. May he grow up to be a godly young man of peace, joy, good health, and success, one who knows and trusts in You, following the example of Jesus Christ. Let us also remember to pray that David will be a productive and successful son to teach and train his own children so they will be saved and not perish in Hell forevermore if they do not receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Again, in a gentle rebuke, we remind you of your role of guiding David to be an example of a Christian father raising his children in the fear and the admonition of the Lord. Here we speak of the highest calling, that David would grow to one day start a family. This role is so sacred and important in modern culture. If it is the Lords will, David should know his role as a man in Family. While the attempt to save David's soul is the priority, the longer term vision of his life should be covered in prayer as well. They may then pray that whoever finds David will find one who has a calling on marriage. He may even meet a young lady who will desire David and submit to his godly calling to be a man of God as a husband himself and a father as well. He may also pray that the entire Christian family unit be preserved.
