We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggles your son is facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to God and can be saved. Let the words of Jesus in John 14:6 WEB guide us: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We'll keep this in mind as we pray for your son.
Firstly, we commend you for your faith and love, interceding for your son's complete submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is our heartfelt prayer that he would experience the joy and peace that transcends all understanding, a gift from God that comes through knowing Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved son. Lord, You know the depth of his struggles and the pain he carries. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a tangible way, that he may know the hope and purpose found only in You.
Father, we pray that You would break the chains of despair and suicidal thoughts that have tried to take hold of his life. According to Your Word, we pray that his life would be renewed in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).
Father, forgive him as he is being called to repent.
We ask that You would surround him with godly friends who will encourage, strengthen, and build him up in Your Word. Like iron sharpening iron, may these friendships draw him closer to You (Proverbs 27:17 WEB).
Father, we also pray for healing and restoration in his relationship with his earthly father. We ask that You would fill the void of his absence with Your perfect love and bring reconciliation if it is Your will.
We pray that God will help him to grow into a Godly man who will lead his family and children in the ways of God.
Finally, we pray that he would come to know the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding, that he would be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19 WEB). We offer this prayer, we offer this to You as Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior.
Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your son, trusting that God is at work in his life. We will continue to pray for him. Keep your faith strong in the Lord, and remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
