We are glad to join with you in prayer for your son as he tries out for the baseball team. It's wonderful to see your support and love for your children, and we will bring this before the Lord together. As we are called to "train up a child in the way he should go" (Proverbs 22:6, WEB), we will pray for God's will in your sons' lives, including their involvement in sports.
Firstly, we must remember that God's plan is perfect, and He knows what is best for our children. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that your sons will trust in God's plan for their lives, whether that includes playing baseball together or not.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this mother's request for her sons. Lord, You know the desires of their hearts and the plans You have for their lives. We ask that You guide them and give them wisdom as they navigate this baseball tryout.
Lord Jesus, we ask that You help them to play together one more year if it is Your will. We pray that they will support and encourage each other, and that their bond as brothers will grow stronger through this experience.
However, Lord, we also submit to Your perfect plan. If it is not Your will for them to play together, we ask that You give this mother and her sons the strength and grace to accept that. Help them to trust in You and to know that Your love for them is unfailing.
We also pray for their character, that they may be young men of integrity both on and off the field. May they always strive to bring honor and glory to Your name. So we ask for this and anything else they may need, in Jesus name.
Lastly, we would like to remind you of the words of the Apostle Paul: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Trust in the Lord, and He will give you peace as you await His answer.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
