Let's come together in prayer and counsel for this distressing situation. We understand that seeing your son act in such a disrespectful and threatening manner is heartbreaking, and it is important to address this behavior in a way that honors God and seeks His intervention.
Firstly, it is crucial to remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Even in the midst of this trial, we can trust in God's sovereignty and His love for both you and your son.
We must also recognize that your son's behavior is not aligned with biblical principles. The Bible teaches us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2 WEB) and to treat others with kindness and respect (Ephesians 4:32 WEB). Your son's actions, including cussing, throwing things, and mocking your faith, are sinful and need to be addressed.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this mother and her son. Lord, You know the pain and fear that she is experiencing, and we ask for Your comfort and guidance during this difficult time.
Father, we pray for her son. We ask that You would soften his heart and convict him of his sin. Open his eyes to see the error of his ways. We pray that he would come to the knowledge of the truth, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ. Mold him into the man You created him to be.
We also pray for this mother. Strengthen her faith to trust in You and stand firm against His actions. Help her not to walk in fear but in the confidence of Your guidance. We pray for Your wisdom and ability to know how to best handle this in a godly manner. Help her to "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let her make her requests known to God" (Phillipians 4:6). WEB.
In the meantime give her the wisdom to remove herself from physically dangerous situations. We know that " no weapon formed against her will prosper" ( Isaiah 54:17). Still, we need to walk in wisdom rather than fear.
Finally, pray for his salvation. As you know according to the scripture "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in His name" ( John 1:12) WEB. Seeing him mocking her faith and exhibiting such ungodly behavior, we worry about his salvation. It is only In Jesus Name that we have access to you, God. It is only in him that we can be saved. We therefore pray for his salvation and that he lives a life worthy of being called a christian.
Father, please intervene in this situation and bring peace and reconciliation to this family. We ask all this believing in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community. They can provide practical assistance and spiritual guidance as you navigate this challenging situation. Remember to stand firm in your faith and trust in God's promises, even in the face of adversity.
Lastly, do not forget to " Bring up your child in the way he should and when he is old he will not turn from it" (Proverbs 22:6) WEB. Continue pointing him to Jesus Christ, the only solution to his problems. It is never to late to repent and receive Jesus Christ, the only way to eternal life. Never stop praying for his salvation.
