We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your son is facing. It's important to remember that God is faithful and just, and He hears the prayers of His people. Let's come together in unity and lift your son up in prayer, seeking God's will and mercy in his life in Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we need to address the underlying issues. Your son has struggled with alcohol, which led to his DUI charges. Drinking alcohol in excess is condemned as being a manifestation of the sin of drunkenness.
Galatians 5:21 WEB "envying, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I warn you, even as I also warned you before, that they who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."
We must pray that your son turns away from this sin and turns to God.
Secondly, your son is facing consequences from his past actions, including the juvenile petty theft from 16 years ago. While we pray for God's mercy, we must also remember that God desires us to face our past and make things right, which is also known as restitution.
Luke 19:8 WEB "Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much"
Your son's struggles with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder can be a very challenging burden to carry around. It is vitally important to remember that believers in Jesus Christ are not exempt from tests and trials in life.
John 16:33 "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."
Lastly, we must address the fact that your prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father.
John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is facing serious charges and struggling with mental health issues. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to be upon him. We pray that You would deliver him from the sin of drunkenness and help him to make right his past wrongs in Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask for Your comfort and peace to surround him and his family during this difficult time. We pray that You would guide the judge who will be presiding over your son's case and you will grant him mercy and favor. We rebuke the spirit of anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder in Jesus Christ. We ask for Your healing power to be upon him, bringing restoration and wholeness to his mind and body.
Lord, we also pray for his marriage, that it would be strong and rooted in Your love. We ask that You would guide him and his wife, giving them the wisdom and strength to navigate this challenging time together.
We ask all of these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
We encourage your son to continue attending his treatment programs and to also seek biblical counseling to help him overcome his struggles. We also encourage him to stay strong in his faith, trusting in God's promises and leaning on His strength.
1 Corinthians 10:13. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
