Jesus please let me son be ok at school today and do everything that he is supposed to, and be cooperative about karate. Please, Jesus, I cannot take anymore stress. Please also help me figure out Christmas. And please let the mail that my mother in law is receiving today not be more bad news. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We understand that you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed, and we are here to pray with you and offer biblical encouragement. First, let's pray for your son. In Ephesians 6:1 WEB it is written, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." We pray that your son will be obedient and cooperative at school and in his karate classes.

Father, we lift up needhelpsobad48's son to You. Guide him and give him the wisdom and self-control to do what is right. Help him to be respectful and cooperative with his teachers and instructors. Surround him with Your protection and favor. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Regarding the stress you are feeling, we encourage you to cast your anxieties on the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. When you feel overwhelmed, call upon Him. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB).

In addition, we want to acknowledge the need to keep the focus on Jesus. In John 14:6 WEB it is written, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Keep your focus on Jesus, seek His will in all things. Philippians 4:13 WEB states "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.". Remember that leaving Jesus out can result in just dead works and possibly the wrong focus and outcomes.

As for Christmas, we are approaching a wonderful opportunity to remember Jesus' birth. The focus of Christmas should be to honor Jesus and we are encouraged by Romans 14:5 WEB that says "One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind." This may suggest that celebrating Christmas in itself is not a command from God but remembering and honoring Jesus Christ should be a daily celebration. In this case, pray about the best way to celebrate Christmas to honor Jesus. It may or may not include all the secular aspects that may be considered materialistic. If there are financial limitations or gift expectations, remember Matthew 6:19-21 WEB, "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.".

Finally, concerning your mother-in-law, we pray that any news she receives will be in accordance with God's will and bring peace. Pray Psalm 55:22 WEB over her: "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.". Remember also Ephesians 6:2 WEB, "Honor your father and mother," this would include your mother-in-law. Let this be your focus when dealing with her.

Father, bring peace to this family and show us your will in every situation. Comfort needhelpsobad48's mother-in-law and let any news she receives bring peace and hope. We are here trusting in Your will, praying for needhelpsobad48 and their family, we ask in Jesus Christ's name.

As for Christmas, let's focus on the true meaning - celebrating the birth of our Savior. It's not about the presents or the parties, but about honoring Jesus. Maybe this year, we can find new ways to make that the center of our celebrations. Maybe it's a simple nativity scene, a special family Bible reading, or a gift to a charity in Jesus' name. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to guide us.

And let's not forget our mother-in-law. Let's surround her with prayers of peace and trust in God's plan. "Lord, we pray for peace and understanding for our mother-in-law. Help her to receive any news with a calm and trusting heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
