Son hoarding

My son has half of his bedroom filled with unopened stuff from the dollar tree store. It's a fire hazard. Our trailer park manager told my son to get rid of the stuff. My son refused to listen. We need prayer

We understand your concern and we're here to support you in prayer and guidance. Firstly, let's bring this situation to God in prayer.

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your help and guidance. We lift up the son of Anonymous, asking that You soften his heart and open his eyes to the reality of his situation. Help him to understand the importance of obedience and the danger his actions are posing. Please give Anonymous the wisdom and patience to handle this situation in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your son, as the Bible tells us in James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much."

However, it's also important to address this behavior. The Bible teaches us to be good stewards of our possessions and to live in a way that respects authority. As it says in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." In this case, the trailer park manager's authority should be respected.

Your son's actions could also be a sign of a deeper issue. Covetousness and greed are warned against in the Bible. Hebrews 13:5 tells us, "Be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you, nor forsake you.'" It might be helpful to discuss these principles with your son and encourage him to seek contentment in God, not possessions.

Lastly, it's crucial to remind your son that disobedience can lead to serious consequences. Proverbs 30:17 warns, "The eye that mocks at his father, and scorns obedience to his mother: the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, the young eagles shall eat it." While this is a harsh reminder, it underscores the importance of obedience and respect.

We encourage you to have open conversations with your son about these principles, always approaching the topic with love, patience, and understanding, as encouraged in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
