We are truly saddened to hear about the situation with your son, but we are encouraged by your steadfast faith and love for him. We join you in prayer, asking God to work mightily in his life.
Let us remember the words of Jesus in Luke 15:11-32 (WEB), where He tells the parable of the prodigal son. Just as the father in the story waited patiently for his son's return, our Heavenly Father is waiting for your son with open arms. We claim the promise in 2 Peter 3:9 (WEB), "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
We pray:
With tears streaming down our face, we ask God for your son. We come before your thrown asking for your mercy. "He turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God." 1 Thessalonians's 1:9 (WEB). Change his heart, and his eternal destiny as he completely turns around in the repentance of his heart. Force the seed of the good news to come up in him. We ask that you destroy the hard shell of his heart so that he can no longer resist your touch. Soften his heart and change his mind as he becomes a new creation. 2 Corinthians's 5:17 (WEB), "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
We rebuke the spiritual forces of darkness that are influencing your son's life as per 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB), "for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." We command them to release their hold over him in the mighty name of Jesus. We know our battle is not with our son, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, as per Ephesians 6:12 (WEB).
We also pray for your son's work situation. We ask God to shine His light into the darkness of his workplace and bring hope and transformation. Let the favor of God rest on your son, and let his work be a testimony of God's goodness and grace in Jesus.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your son. Be encouraged by these words in Colossians 1:9-10 (WEB): Take this word and insert your sons name into it. "For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don't cease praying and making requests for [your son], that [he] may be filled with the knowledge of [Jesus will], [Jesus] in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 that [your son] walk worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;"
You mentioned the need for your son to seek Jesus but did not specifically mention the salvation message. "And it shall be that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13 (WEB) Therefore, to be able to seek Jesus we need to start by discovering the truth of his life, death, and resurrection in the Word:
We believe God will hear the cry of the father's heart and we ask above all, we pray in the name of Jesus WEB. John 14:6 (WEB), "[Jesus] said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We pray also in the Holy Spirit.
