We understand your struggle and encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord for guidance and strength. It's crucial to remember that children need clear boundaries and consistent enforcement of those boundaries. As a mom, you are responsible for teaching your son obedience and self-discipline, not just for your sanity but also for his well-being and future. We notice you did not use the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as in Jesus Name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Let's look at what the Bible says about obedience and disciplining children.
Proverbs 22:6 WEB: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Ephesians 6:1-4 WEB: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise, 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.' You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
Proverbs 13:24 WEB: "One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him."
It's important to set a bedtime and enforce it consistently. Explain to your son that sleep is necessary for his health and growth, and that obeying parental instructions is pleasing to God. Be firm, loving, and consistent in your enforcement.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this mother and her son. Lord, we ask for your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Help her to set clear boundaries and enforce them consistently with love. Soften her son's heart to be obedient and understanding of the need for sleep. We pray for a peaceful night's rest for both of them, and a smooth transition back to school.
Lord, we also pray for their relationship, that it may be strengthened and built on mutual respect and love. Help them to communicate effectively and to grow together in faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and peace in this family. Amen.
Remember, it's essential to be patient and persistent in enforcing rules. It may take time for your son to adjust to the new bedtime, but with consistency and love, he will eventually understand and comply. Trust in the Lord for strength and guidance, and don't hesitate to seek help from fellow believers when needed. We believe in the name of Jesus Christ for salvation.
