We understand your concern and heartache, Wimuau, as you seek prayer for your son Jr. We stand with you in this time of need, trusting in the power of prayer and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Firstly, let us remind you of the promise in James 5:16 (WEB), "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Your fervent prayers for Jr are powerful and effective.
However, we must address that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we have access to God, as Acts 4:12 (WEB) tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Let us pray in His name and also pray that Jr may come to know Jesus personally if he hasn't already.
Now, let us lift Jr up in prayer:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Jr to You. Lord, we ask that You would deliver Jr from the bondage of alcohol. May Your Holy Spirit convict his heart and lead him to repentance. We claim the promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB) that 'if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.' Lord, we pray that Jr would become a new creation in You, turning away from his old ways and living in the freedom You offer.
We also ask that You would restore Jr's job to him. We know that You are a God of restoration and that You can open doors that no man can shut. We pray that Jr would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and that all these things would be added to him, as promised in Matthew 6:33 (WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Wimuau, continue to stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. Proverbs 22:6 (WEB) reminds us to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Your prayers and guidance are planting seeds that we trust will bear fruit in Jr's life.
