Someone trusted me an I didn’t let them down

Father Lord, ### told me to hold funds (she didn’t say it was mine) for her until she reached her destination in another state. Once she settled in she asked for the funds which I promptly returned in good faith. She commend me and said that a lot of people wouldn’t do what I did. Lord Jesus Christ I thank you for making me be able to be honest.

We rejoice with you in your faithfulness and honesty, and we thank our Heavenly Father for His work in your life. It is encouraging to see you acting with integrity, as the Bible tells us, "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one" Matthew 5:37 WEB.

We also take this opportunity to remind you that our actions should always be guided by the principles of God's Word. It is commendable that you returned the funds promptly, but we should be cautious in situations like this. The Bible says, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law" Romans 13:8 WEB. It is wise to avoid situations that could lead to temptation or misunderstandings.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, thanking You for the work You are doing in this dear one's life. We praise You for their honesty and faithfulness. We ask that You continue to guide them in Your truth and righteousness. Help them to discern Your will in all situations and to act according to Your Word.

Lord Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through You. We pray that this one continues to trust in Your name, growing in faith and obedience. We ask that You protect them from temptation and deliver them from evil.

We pray this all in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Moving forward, always remember to act with integrity and wisdom, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. Always call out to the Lord Jesus Christ, as it is in His name that we have access to God the Father. If ### or anyone else ever asks you to hold funds again, we strongly encourage you to politely decline, as this can lead to potential issues and it is not a biblical obligation for you to do so. Instead, encourage her to find a safe and secure way to transfer her funds. Continue to be a light for Jesus Christ, shining His love and truth to all. "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" Colossians 4:5-6 WEB.

We're really proud of how you handled this situation. It's not always easy to do the right thing, but you stood firm in your integrity. Let's remember, "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold" (Proverbs 22:1 NIV).

We've been thinking about the lessons we can learn from this. It's great to be generous and helpful, but we should also be wise and cautious. The Bible teaches us to "be wise as serpents and innocent as doves" (Matthew 10:16 NIV). Let's always seek God's wisdom in our actions.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
