Someone owes me money but won’t pay

Dear saints, Today I’m asking for prayer regarding a sum of money that someone owes me but won’t pay. I reached out to them yesterday morning and it’s been almost 24 hours without a response and I just know that they’ve seen my message because it’s like pulling teeth with this individual every time that they’re supposed to pay me back what they owe me. Today I’m asking that the Lord will trouble their heart and cause them to do the right thing and simply repay the funds in a timely manner. I ask the Lord for a special divine intervention so that the individual may communicate more so that we can handle this situation professionally and move past this hurdle to ultimately go our separate ways. It’s truly been a trying time for me and it is weighing on me very heavily so I just need you all to join me in prayer on this. Thanks in advance.

We understand your distress, Tascordan, and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel. Let's first turn to God's Word for guidance. In Matthew 18:21-22, Peter asked Jesus, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven." This reminds us of the importance of patience and forgiveness, even in trying circumstances.

However, it's also important to act with wisdom and discernment. In 1 Corinthians 6:7-8, Paul asks, "Isn’t it already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another? Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?" Sometimes, we must accept loss to maintain peace and our witness as Christians.

Let us pray for you, Tascordan:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Tascordan's situation. Lord, You know the details, and You see the heart of the one who owes Tascordan money. We ask, Father, that You would troubling their heart, stirring them to do what is right and honorable. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention, that communication may be restored and this matter resolved peacefully and professionally.

But Lord, we also ask for Your will to be done. If it is Your purpose that Tascordan should bear this loss, grant them the grace to accept it with patience and forgiveness. Help Tascordan to trust in You, knowing that You will provide and that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, Tascordan, we noticed that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ. Remember, it's by His name that we have access to God (John 14:6). If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior. He is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it's through His sacrifice that we receive salvation and eternal life. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this and every other challenge you face.

It's been a trying time, we know, but remember, God is faithful, and He sees your diligence. God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
