I have been here think a lot over the last few days about how we live as Christians. Most of us are so busy trying not to "sin" that we are not living at all.
We remember the Ten Commandments and add so many more by our narrow interpretation that it feels that we are not allowed to do anything. We totally forget John 3:86 "who the Son has set free is free indeedâ€.
What does this mean to you personally?
To me it means we are free. We are free to live, we are free from condemnation. Just because we made a bad choice does not mean we have sinned. We are so sin-conscious that we do not see God. We are so busy fighting and resisting the devil we don't see God. God is all around us. We are searching for Satan instead of God. We are watching our spouse, what they have and have not done according to what we want them to do, we are looking at the other person in their life and comparing us to them or wishing they were not there. I know I do this. I want my husband back. I want her out of the picture, which will never happen now that she has a child with my husband.
But we need to be God conscious at all time. The bible tells us in Jeremiah 29'12-14 "12'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'
If we truly seek the Lord we will find him in everything. We will find him in our current situation, we will find him on TV, and I am not talking about on TBN or Christian shows but in almost every TV show on TV. God is there. You will see him at work at the grocery store everywhere you go you will find him if you are looking. I mean even if you are running from him he is already there. David said it best in Psalms 139 7-12 "7Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,â€
12even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you."
God is everywhere if we are looking for him and not Satan. While we are sin conscious we are in prison scared to move or do anything because we are looking for Satan, and yes Satan is there. He is all-around us but if you seek God you will see him.
Paul says it best in 1 Corinthians 10:23 "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not."
There are no limits on what we are allowed to do but not everything is good for us to do. The reason that it is not good for us to do is not that God is seeking to punish us if we ness up but more that there are natural consequences to our bad behavior. If I shout at my husband he will get mad and not speak to me and it will hurt me. I if I rob a bank I will be imprisoned, if I commit adultery my conscious will bother me. Through it all God still loves me and is a perfect gentleman wait for me to come to my father and say sorry. He will not remove the consequence but he will be with me to guide me and give me the strength to endure it. Amen. He has promised he will never leave or forsake us but we do get impatient and leave him.
Ephesians 4:30 says "And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption." (NLT) and how do we not grieve the Holy Spirit we learn what hurts him. And the way we do that is to have an intimate relationship with him. and in all things that you do you do with a clear conscious because you are God conscious and Jesus said he can so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. That doesn't mean riches but life. We are to live life to its fullest enjoying everything God had to offer.
So everyone live. Stop putting yourself in prison by seeking and seeing Satan everywhere but become God Conscious and LIVE!!!
