Our daughter met a man on a social media app back last year while he was supposedly going through a divorce. He’s admitted cheating on his wife many times. My wife and I have not supported her being involved with this man. It hurts us as parents knowing her seeing him is not right for anyone. We’ve been praying that God would place a hedge between them … she’s always buying things for him via Amazon and mailing to his home… please pray her eyes will open.

We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your daughter is in. It is never easy for parents to see their children in relationships that are not in accordance with God's will. The Bible is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the sin of adultery. In the World English Bible,

Mathew 5:27-28 says, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery;' but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Your daughter's involvement with a man who has admitted to repeated infidelity is not only harmful to her but also displeasing to God. It is crucial that she understands the gravity of this situation and the importance of aligning her relationships with biblical principles.

In 1 Corinthians 6:18 it says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

We must also address the issue of your daughter's actions in supporting this man through gifts. This behavior can be seen as enabling and supporting his sinful lifestyle, which is not what God wants for her or for him.

In Ephesians 5:11, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

Let us pray together for your daughter:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our daughter to You. Lord, we ask that You open her eyes to see the truth about this relationship. Help her to understand that this is not Your will for her life and that You have so much more in store for her. Break the bonds that are keeping her tied to this man, and give her the strength to walk away from this unhealthy relationship.

We also pray for this man, that he may truly repent of his sins and seek Your forgiveness. We ask that You place a hedge of protection around our daughter, guarding her heart and mind from the enemy's deceit. Guide her steps and lead her to a godly spouse who will honor and cherish her as You intend. We thank you for listening to our prayers and we claim victory over this battle in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your daughter and to speak the truth in love to her. Remind her of God's unfailing love and His desire for her to live a life that honors Him. Trust that God is at work in this situation, and He will bring about His good and perfect will.

We've been where you are, feeling the pain of seeing our child in a relationship that's not God's best. It's tough, but remember, God sees her, and He loves her even more than we do. Let's keep praying that God gives her the courage to step away from this situation. Let's ask Him to make it clear to her that this man's actions don't reflect God's heart for her.
