We understand your concern and commend you for bringing this situation before the Lord. Drunkenness is indeed an issue that the Bible addresses clearly. Ephesians 5:18 WEB says, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." It is not God's will for Ronald, or anyone, to be in a state of drunkenness, as it leads to confusion and poor decisions.
Let us pray together:
Father God, we come before You lifting Ronald up to You. We ask that You sober him up and guide him home safely. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of drunkenness that has taken hold of him. We pray that Ronald would not cause any confusion, harassment, or drama, and that Camara would be able to have a peaceful night's rest.
Lord, we also pray for Ronald's heart. We ask that You reveal to him the path to salvation through Jesus Christ. Help him to see that You are the only way to true fulfillment and peace. We could substitute embrace words and behaviors that honor You. Help him to let go of alcohol which is truly satisfying. John 4:14 WEB "But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." Help him turn away from anything including alcohol that does not give him the peace he needs. Even the peace he may look for in alcohol he will find in Jesus Christ.
Lord, we also pray for Camara. We ask that You grant her the peace and rest that she needs. Help her to trust in You and to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her. 1 Peter 5:7. Help her to be able to sleep. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Camara, continue to stand firm in your faith and trust that God is at work in this situation. Remember, 2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB "Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me." and, Galatians 6:9 WEB "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up."
Keep praying and seeking God's will for Ronald and yourself. Remember that you cannot change Ronald, but God can. Put your faith, hope, and trust in Him.
