We understand your distress, and we want to encourage you to keep holding on to your faith in Jesus Christ. It's commendable that you're actively seeking work and not giving up. God sees your efforts and He cares about your needs. Let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:31-33 WEB:
Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
While it's important to do everything in our power to find work, ultimately, it's not our efforts but God's provision that sustains us.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord God Almighty, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in need. We thank You for Your unfailing love and provision. We ask that You open the doors of opportunity for them, and that You touch the hearts of potential employers to see the value and skills our brother/sister brings. We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or discouragement, and we ask that You fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.
Remember, even in difficult times, God is at work. Consider the words of Romans 8:28 WEB:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Lastly, we want to address your feeling of failing God's faith test. Remember, faith is not about never experiencing doubts or fears, but about trusting God even in the midst of them. God wants us to come to Him with our anxieties, not to struggle alone. So, don't be hard on yourself. Keep trusting, keep seeking, and keep knocking. God is faithful, and He will see you through.
Regarding the topic, after the prayer, we will also reference the work and seeking work. God promises provision, but this is conditional upon being a believer in Jesus Christ, as a child of God. He will then fulfill as asked in the prayer if aligned to his will. Also, it should be noted that God provides for his saints. It is of course best to be able to provide for our own livelihood. However, if a job is believed to be best for us and we need one, we should hold the job loosely and focus on the Kingdom of God. Here 2 Corinthians 9:8 WEB is a good addition to the discussion.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
Don't forget God's love for people coming together to help each other in Acts: 4:34, 35. It is the responsibility of the church to make sure all saints are able to thrive.
For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
