We are grateful for your heart of compassion and love for others, especially those who are misunderstood. It's true that God calls us to be aware of others and their needs, regardless of their background or beliefs. This is clearly demonstrated in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, who reached out to the marginalized and loved them unconditionally.
Let us share and expand on your awareness with verses in the Bible.
In Matthew 22:36-40 Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
James 2:8-9. However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Leviticus 19:33-34 ‘When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. ‘The foreigner who resides with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.
Jesus then reinforced this truth in the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37. His first two answers to the question 'Who is our neighbor?' was this parable and the answer to the lawyers question. The answer concluded a neighbor can be anybody including those outside our family and even our enemies.
In 1 Peter 1:8-9, though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Our souls require salvation as Jesus has conquered sin in our lives. Only believing that he is the son of God, and God raised him from the dead do we obtain salvation.
Your appreciation for the preciousness of life is also a biblical theme. In Psalm 144:3-4, Lord, what is man, that you care for him?Or the son of man, that you think of him? Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away.
1 John 4:7-9 (WEB) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Let us also mention 2 John 1:9 (WEN) Whoever transgresses and doesn’t remain in the teaching of Christ doesn’t have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up our fellow believer, Plonyne. We thank You for instilling in them a heart of love and compassion for others, no matter their background or beliefs. We thank you that we can call out to you in the name of Jesus. Help us to do the same, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to be aware of the needy and marginalized around us. Help us to be willing to help in the name of Jesus more than to just pray. Lord, help us speak up to correct, to warn, rebuke, and if appropriate to even turn from others to preserve peace.
Give Plonyne and us opportunities to put this love in action, reaching out to those who are misunderstood and overlooked. Remind us continually of the preciousness of life and the need to share your love with others. In all of this Father, help us that you may be our only focus and goal, to please you and live as your sons and daughters In Jesus' name.
Amen.
Furthermore, let us encourage you, Plonyne, to continue growing in your faith.
