CJL80, we understand that you're hoping for a "snow day" and we appreciate that you've included "IJN" in your request. While we can certainly pray for God's will to be done regarding the weather, we also want to take this opportunity to reflect on the importance of our prayers and how they align with God's word.
We know that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including the weather. In Job 37:6, it says, "For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth;' likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain." God controls the snow and the rain, and we can trust that He will do what is best.
However, as believers, our prayers should be focused on more than just our personal desires. In James 4:3, it says, "You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures." Instead, our prayers should be aligned with God's will and for His glory. In 1 John 5:14-15, it says, "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
So, let's pray that God's will be done regarding the snow, and that whatever happens, it will bring glory to His name and provide opportunities for His love and goodness to be shown.
Dear Lord, we come before You in Jesus' name to ask for Your will to be done regarding the snow. If it is Your will, Lord, let it snow enough for a "snow day," but more importantly, let Your love and goodness be shown whatever the outcome. Help us to trust in Your sovereignty and to find joy and peace in every circumstance. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let's remember to keep our faith in God's goodness and sovereignty, and to pray for opportunities to share His love and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. As it says in John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him."
