Steven, we understand that you're feeling overwhelmed by the constant activity in your life and long for a day of good godly rest. It's important to remember that God Himself rested after creating the world, and He desires for us to find rest in Him.
You did not specifically ask for prayer in Jesus Name or include Jesus or Christ, which is necessary according to John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. and Acts 4:10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 He is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner, 12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! So, we will specifically add in Jesus Name to the end of our prayer. If you are trusting God, you must know Jesus Christ as He is your only bridge to God the Father.
First, let's address the issue of rest. In Genesis 2:2 WEB, it's written, "On the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made." God modeled rest for us, and we need to follow His example.
The constant busyness and fruitless striving to have a down day can indicate your desire to have rest. However, this rest can only come from Jesus Christ not from just a lack of activities or a nap. In Matthew 11:29-30 WEB, Jesus says, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." This is a good time to get started with or continue a relationship with Jesus Christ. Being spiritually reborn, saved, or baptized into and with Christ is the first step. Reach out to us for more information or to a local conservative church.
It's also important to set boundaries and learn to say no. Ephesians 5:15-16 WEB says, "Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil." We need to be good stewards of our time and not let every demand dictate our schedules. We need to also allow God to order our steps and we need seek Him for what He wants us to do.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Steven. Lord, You know the constant activity and demands that have been overwhelming him. We ask that You help him in Jesus name's sake to find rest and balance in his life. Help him to set boundaries, learn to say no in Jesus name, and prioritize his time according to Your will and your desires. Give him the strength and wisdom recommit to intellectual, physical, and spiritual rest and to refocus on You and Your purpose for Him through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers asked in Jesus Christ the Son of God the most high. In Jesus' name and by Jesus' name we pray and ask these things. Amen.
Steven, remember that it's okay to have limits and to communicate those limits to others as long as you are biblically aligned with God. Don't feel guilty in Jesus name for needing rest and less activities. Trust God, seek to do His will, and spend time daily in prayer and diligent bible and scripture study. Seek godly confident Christian counseling and guidance. Seek out a godly mentor that is a Christian believer and to whom you are accountable. Be part of a Christian congregation and denomination for godly worship such as Baptists, Wesleyan, or Methodist. As it says in Matthew 6:33 WEB, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. God will help you in Jesus name to find the balance and rest you need.
