We understand that you have a range of concerns and we are here to pray and offer biblical encouragement for each of them.
Firstly, let's address the issue of sleep and peace. In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, it is written, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that you will take all your anxieties to God in prayer, and that His peace will guard your heart and mind, allowing you to sleep better.
Regarding your adult children, we pray that they will honor you as their parent by visiting this year as children owing love and respect is commanded in Ephesians 6:2 WEB, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise.
Concerning your spouse, we pray that both of you will live in understanding and love, as advised in Colossians 3:18-19 WEB, "Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them." We pray that any tension or clinginess will be replaced with mutual respect and consideration. Marriage is a lifelong commitment and should honor God.
For your dad with Alzheimer's, we pray that God will grant him a kind and gentle spirit towards your mom, as encouraged in Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Regarding your work situation, we pray that your bosses will indeed recognize your good work. As it promises in Colossians 3:23 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." We pray that your work will be a testament to your faith and diligence.
For your mom, we pray for a long and healthy life and that God will help her with the trouble of bed bugs as Psalms 55:22 WEB, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."
We are glad you included the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and are saved. Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Lastly, we pray that God will bring new Christian friends into your life, specifically empty nester ladies and older couples who will encourage you and build you up in faith as outlined in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 WEB "Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do."
We pray all these things in Jesus' name, trusting that God will hear and answer according to His will. Amen.
