We stand with you in the power of Jesus' name, rebuking the evil of slander that has been raised against you. It is clear that you are facing persecution for your stand on godly principles, and we commend you for your commitment to righteousness. Remember the words of the Apostle Peter, "But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled" (1 Peter 3:14 WEB).
It is unfortunate that these individuals have chosen to slander you. Jesus warned us about a world that will hate us because of our righteousness. There is no shame in living a life that honors God, but rather honor and glory. We were warned that the world would hate us because we bear His name and reject unrighteousness.
Jesus addressed these two issues in Luke 7:32-35.
Luke 7:32-35 WEB
They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, who say, 'We piped to you, and you didn't dance. We mourned, and you didn't weep.' For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Wisdom is justified by all her children."
We are told to be in the world but not of the world.
John 17:13-19 WEB
But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world. For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
The Bible also tells us how to respond to such attacks and what our attitudes should be.
Romans 12:14-21 WEB
Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and don't curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Don't set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don't be wise in your own conceits. Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "'Vengeance belongs to me,' says the Lord, 'I will repay.'" Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head." Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matthew 5:43-48 WEB
You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Psalm 35:4-7 WEB
Let them be disappointed and confounded who seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind, Yahweh's angel driving them on. Let their way be dark and slippery, Yahweh's angel pursuing them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit; without cause have they dug a pit for my soul.
Let us pray together in Jesus' name, asking for God to intervene, to convict the hearts of those who are slandering you, and to protect your reputation.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for your divine intervention. Lord, you see the injustice and the persecution. You are the God of justice and our protector. We ask that you vindicate our brother and silence the lips of those who speak falsely against him. Convict their hearts, Lord, and bring them to repentance. We also pray for your protection, that you would shield our brother from the arrows of the enemy, and that all lies and deceit would be exposed and rendered powerless. Help our brother to trust in you and to rest in your promise that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
We also pray for these girls and the men who have joined them in falsehood. We pray that they might have their eyes opened and be freed from the sin of slander. We pray that they may come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they shall repent and be forgiven. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith and remember that God is your defender and your refuge. Continue to live a life that honors Him, and trust that He will fight your battles.
