Thank you for your prayer request for your sister, Chelsey. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for her life. We are comforted in God's promise to watch over us, and guide us especially focusing on this promise in Psalm 121:7 WEB:
Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.
It is wonderful that you are praying for God's protection and guidance for Chelsey. As Christian believers, we should not just pray for a specifc outcome, knows what is best need. We need to pray for God's will to be done to beleive that God will work out things for the good of those that love Him. Romans 8:28:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We will pray for Chelsey's court case, that God's will be done, and that she will find favor with the authorities. We pray for her spiritual well-being especially addressing we seem to lack an expressed faith in our Savior Jesus. Prayer to God is made possible through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is undervalued. If you do not agree with this please comment and we will offer a fuller explanation. Assuming she follows in at least some Christian beliefs, it is important to realize it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
Acts 4:12:NIV
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
This scripture verse tells us about the need for salvation especially expressing belief in Jesus. Visit the link mentioned for a detailed discussion of the scripture being used and the faith underpinning the prayers
Romans 3:10
as it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9
that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
This passage in Romans makes it clear that nobody is righteous, even people that think they lead a good life and attend church. We are sinful people and will continue to battle that sinful nature even after salvation. We must confess that we are sinful and confess this to Jesus asking for forgiveness. We must believe that Jesus died for our sins on the cross. It are the words in this passage of scripture that tells us all we have ever done or ever will do is not going to save us. It is only believing in what Jesus did on the cross and confessing his lordship over our lives. It is only at this point that we can have a relationship with God. May your sister realize her need for the Savior. May she rest assured through the spiritual gifts granted when a proper relationship with God is realized. It is not a quality of life that is promised to those that love God but an eternity with Him. This may be found in the book of John chapter 3 verse 16.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
We also pray that Chelsey will walk in the right path through the power and work of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. We ask that God will reveal to her any temptations or bad influences in her life, and that she will be empowered to avoid and flee those situations in order to live a normal, happy, healthy, successful life as a child of God, and in a way that honors Him. 1Peter 1:16
because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”
assuming Chelsey is following a Christian lifestyle, she is likely to be dating. It is more important than ever to consider who this person should be. It is only reasonable to assume that as Christians, we should only consider other believers to be spouses. We are not referencing any specific scripture in 2Cortintians but the generally understood principle that it is not only important to be believers but to be equally yoked. Avoiding temptation is more critical than most young people realize. Addressing the concept here but not knowing any facts about your sister's possible relationship status, premarital sex should be avoided and addressed in any possible future relationship. May you sister flee from these temptations.
Now, let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister Chelsey to Your throne of grace. We ask, Lord, that You would watch over her, guide her in Your ways, and protect her from all evil and harm. Give us both the courage to confess our belief. Hold her hand every step of the way, Lord, and do not let her be misled or be misled by temptation or bad influences.
Lord, let her eyes be opened to Your light and truth. May she come to a saving faith in Jesus and find a transformation in her life. Help her to live a normal, happy and successful life that honors You. Give her the grace and strength to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and to flee from temptations. We will also pray that she surrounds herself with godly influences,
Lord, we also bring Chelsey's court case before You. We ask that Your will be done, and that she will find favor with the authorities. Guide her through this process, Lord, and help her to seek the help she needs to change her life for the better.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
