We understand that you're going through a challenging situation with your sister and your pet. Let's bring your concerns to God, seeking His will and guidance.
Firstly, we want to address the situation with your sister. It's important to remember that God calls us to be wise stewards of our resources. It is never good to support or finance sinful behavior. In 2 Thessalonians 3:10 WEB, it says, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.'"
You are not doing your sister a favor if you are giving her money so she can go out with someone. Especially if this is with someone she is not married to. If she is not married, then she should not be dating. In 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 WEB, Paul advises, "But I say to the unmarried and to widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I am. But if they don't have self-control, let them marry. For it's better to marry than to burn."
But there is another issue that we need to address. You did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It is only by His name that we have access to God. In John 14:6 WEB Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This is the message of salvation. We must believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We also need to repent and confess our sins. In Romans 10:9-10 WEB, it says "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."
Now let us pray for your sister, that God will convict her of her sin and grant her the wisdom to make better choices. Let's also pray for your dog Shelby Lynn, asking God for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the sister of the one who submitted this request. Lord, we pray that You will speak to her heart and help her to make choices that honor You. Help her to look to Jesus Christ and not man. Convict her of any sin and may she come to the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ. Help her to see that true joy and fulfillment come from You alone and that she does not need a man to be happy. We pray this in accordance with Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Father, we also lift up Shelby Lynn, who is undergoing surgery tomorrow. We pray for Your healing touch upon her, that the surgery will be successful, and that she will recover quickly. We know that You care for all of Your creatures, and we are grateful that she is a source of joy for our sister. In Psalm 147:3 WEB it says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask this in Jesus name.
Father, we thank You for the strength and wisdom You've given to the one who submitted this request. We pray that You will continue to guide her and give her peace. We pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.
Be encouraged, and know that God is working in both situations for His good purpose. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths and the paths of your sister.
