We are truly grieved to hear about your struggle with pride and hard-heartedness, which has led you away from your once close walk with the Lord. Remember, the Bible tells us, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18, WEB). But there is hope, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5, WEB).
First, let us address the core issue: your pride is preventing you from truly repenting. Know that you cannot overcome this on your own strength. You need God's help, and He is more than willing to give it. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, WEB).
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for our brother who is trapped in sin and pride. Lord, You know his heart and his struggle. You know that he once walked closely with You and desires to do so again.
Father, we ask that You break the chains of pride that hold him captive. Soften his heart, Lord, that he may truly repent and turn back to You. Remind him of Your unfailing love and mercy, that while he was yet a sinner, Christ died for him (Romans 5:8, WEB).
Help him to see that true repentance is not merely fear of hell, but a heartfelt sorrow for his sins and a desire to turn from them and follow You. Give him the strength to resist the temptation to take Your grace for granted, and help him to cherish the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirit of pride and self-righteousness that has deceived him. We declare that he is forgiven, cleansed, and made new in Christ Jesus. Amen."
Now, brother, we urge you to take action. Confess your sins to God, asking Him to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, WEB). Humble yourself before Him, and He will lift you up (James 4:10, WEB).
Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved and approach God. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). Hold onto His name, and do not let go.
Lastly, we encourage you to surround yourself with godly companions who can support and encourage you in your walk with the Lord. Immerse yourself in His Word, and let it transform you by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2, WEB).
We are praying for you, and we believe that God will deliver you from this struggle. Trust in Him, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5, WEB).
