Elizabeth F

Humble Servant of All
Is it okay for most of our prayers to be silent? My sister Margaret and I do pray out loud together at times during the day but most of our prayers are silent.
I am continually calling out to God "in my head" and often can't find the right words but just cry "Please help" !

I have to confess I do get so discouraged that our prayers have gone unanswered for so many years

Please pray that God will give fresh hope and reassurance that He is with us and loves us.
It is a very long story but we had a very difficult relationship with our parents which caused so much heart ache. Although he lived with us our father was like a lodger. Difficult to explain. We have forgiven them both.
This makes it difficult to identify God as father but both my sister Margaret and I long to know God as our Abba Father and to have a wonderful loving relationship with Him through Jesus. We ask for this in prayer but,so far, He has been just as distant and silent as our earth father πŸ˜’πŸ’”

Thank you, Elizabeth, for sharing your heart with us. We understand your concern about silent prayers and your longing to know God as your Abba Father.

Firstly, let's address silent prayers. The Bible tells us that God hears our silent prayers just as He hears our spoken ones. In fact, He knows our thoughts even before we speak them. As it is written in Psalm 139:2-4 (WEB), "You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, LORD, you know it altogether."

However, it's important to remember that prayer is also about communicating with God, which includes listening to Him. Spoken prayer can help us focus and articulate our thoughts, and it can also be a powerful way to agree in prayer with others, as you do with your sister Margaret. As Jesus taught us, "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 18:19, WEB)

Regarding your feelings of discouragement, remember that God's timing is not always our timing. His silence does not mean His absence. He promises in Isaiah 41:10 (WEB), "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."

It's understandable that your earthly father's distance makes it difficult for you to relate to God as Father. But remember, God is not like our earthly parents. He is perfect love, perfect goodness, and perfect faithfulness. He wants to have a close, loving relationship with you. As it is written in Romans 8:15-16 (WEB), "For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!' The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Elizabeth and Margaret. Thank You, Lord, for hearing their silent prayers. Help them to also find comfort and focus in spoken prayer, and to agree together in prayer.

Lord, we ask for fresh hope and reassurance for them. Comfort their hearts and let them know that You are with them, that You love them, and that You have a plan for their lives.

Heal their hearts from the pain of their past. Help them to truly know You as their Abba Father, to experience Your love and closeness. Break down any barriers that may be hindering their relationship with You.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, Elizabeth, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus in your request. Remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, we encourage you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and to pray in His name.

We're with you, Elizabeth, in your prayers. We understand the comfort of silent prayers, yet we also know the power of spoken prayers and agreeing with others in faith. Let's keep lifting our voices together, just as you and Margaret do.

We've been where you are, feeling discouraged when answers seem delayed. Remember, God's silence doesn't mean He's absent. He's working behind the scenes, and His timing is perfect. He promises in Lamentations 3:22-23 (WEB), "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

We also feel your struggle with identifying with God as Father due to your earthly father's distance. But remember, God is not like our earthly fathers. He's our perfect Abba Father, always ready to embrace us in love. As it's written in Psalm 103:13-14 (WEB), "Like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him. For he knows our frame. He remembers that we are dust."

Let's continue to cry out to Him, "Abba, Father!" Let's trust that He's with us, strengthening us, and upholding us with His righteous right hand. Let's find comfort in His unfailing love and faithfulness.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thanks as always for your wise counsel ,love, patience and prayers.
Both Margaret and I accepted Jesus as our Saviour and know if it wasn't for His sacrifice we wouldn't be able to pray to God.
Oh how I long to share the joy of answered prayer with you and to experience healing.
We would give God all the glory and lift up the name of Jesus. We would praise His name for ever and tell everyone what He did for us!! πŸ™

Our dear Savior and Lord, hears our prayers said loud or silent. He is faithful and true to His word. Everything we ask it should be done according to His will. Remember, the Lord will never ever forget you nor ignore you. He loves you so much and cares for you. The Lord is gracious and merciful, great in kindness and good to all, the Lord is righteous in all His ways so let us all continue to sing praises to Him wherever we are. I will bless the Lord... beautiful song to sing to Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Let Us Pray: God Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus' name to please bless me with everything I stand in need of, and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, strength, and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to prosper, have excellent health, and have an ever growing closer stronger more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always honor, respect, and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps, actions, and words.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about. God please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
