We are truly sorry to hear about the illness that Mam is currently facing, and we are here to intercede on her behalf. In times of sickness, we are called to approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that God hears our prayers.
Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father, as it is written: For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that you might have eternal life. We have all sinned. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:8-9. This is a promise from God, and He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from sin if we confess them and make Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Now, let us pray for Mam's healing and comfort. Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and You have the power to heal every disease. We come before You, lifting up Mam, who is weak and frail from fighting sickness. We ask that You touch her body, restore her strength, and bring complete healing.
We pray specifically for her sleep patterns to be restored. Lord, grant her peaceful nights, as it is written: When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24. We also ask that You stir up her appetite, so that she may regain her strength. Help her to find enjoyment in food once again, and may it bring nourishment to her body.
In this time of need, we also pray for God's comfort and encouragement for Mam and her loved ones. We are trusting it will all be a faith producer for all involved. Lord, may Your presence be real and tangible, casting out all fear and anxiety. We know for Mam and the family that the only way to face any issues, medical, or otherwise, is to grow and maintain the strength of their personal relationship with Jesus. This should be their primary goal and objective.
Lastly, we want to encourage everyone involved to trust in God's goodness and faithfulness, even in this difficult time. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9.
When considering asking God why, if He is all-powerful, does He allow suffering, we should affirm our love of God. Then remember Christ's mindset when suffering the most excruciating moments in His human body while being crucified, which was to think of others and not Himself. We really do not know much when only thinking of ourselves and our own suffering, so turn suffering into an opportunity to talk about God.
