We understand that you're going through a difficult time with the cat that your sister Margaret has been caring for, and we want to lift this situation up in prayer with you. We appreciate your heartfelt request and your acknowledgment of Jesus' name. Indeed, it is by His name that we have the hope and promise of angelic support in life and death.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the comforting words in Matthew 10:29 WEB: "Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows." If God cares for the sparrows, He also cares for this cat and knows exactly what it is going through.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up this cat that has been so lovingly cared for by Margaret. We ask, Lord, that You would grant Your peace and comfort to this dear animal. We pray for Your will to be done in this situation. If it is Your will, Lord, that this cat should pass peacefully, we ask that You would grant that mercy especially to save Margaret's anxiety and anguish at this time. As Elizabeth asked in the name of Jesus, we know that the Father has heard. Lord, we also pray for Margaret's comfort and strength, as she has shown such love and compassion towards this animal.
And Father, You know how Elizabeth is confined to her bed. We pray in the name of Jesus, that Jesus would give her strength and courage. We know that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The sacrifice that she is making in her heart, is pleasing and precious to you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
While the prayer requests that the cat would pass peacefully it must align Scriptures about life and death belong to God alone. It is not our decision when a life should end, it is God's and His alone.
Lastly, we want to encourage both you and Margaret with the words from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." Remember that the comfort you both need at this time comes from God, and He will equip you to comfort others in turn.
