I prayed for this in Jesus Name.
We empathize with your distress and are here to support you in prayer and counsel. Firstly, let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
In this trying time, we must remain steadfast in our faith and trust in God's mercy. Psalm 147:3 (WEB) tells us, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We pray that God will heal your heart and grant you peace as you navigate through this difficult situation.
However, we must also address the reality of the consequences of sin. If your son has committed a crime, justice must be served, but we can pray for his repentance and reformation. In Luke 23:40-43 (WEB), we see the repentant thief crucified beside Jesus, who acknowledged his wrongdoings and turned to Christ. Jesus responded, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." This gives us hope that, even in dire circumstances, repentance and faith in Jesus can lead to salvation and mercy.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this grieving parent who seeks Your mercy. Lord, we ask that You comfort their heart and grant them the peace that passes all understanding. We also pray for their son, who is currently in prison. If he has not already, we pray that he would turn to You, Lord, with a repentant heart and put his faith in Jesus Christ. We ask that You would work in his life, transforming him and guiding him in the path of righteousness. May Your mercy and grace be upon both parent and child, in Jesus' name we pray, amen."
Remember, it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 (WEB) states, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Hold fast to your faith in Jesus, and trust that He is working in your son's life, even in this challenging time.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
