Should Christians practice Halloween?

Jesus clearly said to all of us. Go and sin no more. If you sin and follow pagan pagan practices, then the devil will get hold on you and your heart will grow cold towards Gods word, prayer and you will not want to attend church anymore. Then depression will set in, worry and fear satan will bring to your life. No wonder Jesus told us very clear. Pray one for another so you may be healed. Healing comes when we obey Jesus word. Halloween is a pagan tradition and it comes from evil practices. Stay away from it. If children comes to your door Trick or Treat, give them a bible, a New Testament, Christian Magazines for children to read. Show they that Jesus loves them so much and cares for them.

What would Jesus do when someone full of demons comes along? He would deliver them and make them whole. We must have the mind of Jesus and pray for those who will come to your door and ask for candy or cookies. Share Jesus with them. Tell them that He loves them so much and cares for them.

Ancient Samhain​

Ancient Celts marked Samhain as the most significant of the four quarterly fire festivals, taking place at the midpoint between the fall equinox and the winter solstice. During this time of year, hearth fires in family homes were left to burn out while the harvest was gathered.

After the harvest work was complete, celebrants joined with Druid priests to light a community fire using a wheel that would cause friction and spark flames. The wheel was considered a representation of the sun and used along with prayers. Cattle were sacrificed, and participants took a flame from the communal bonfire back to their home to relight the hearth.

Early texts present Samhain as a mandatory celebration lasting three days and three nights where the community was required to show themselves to local kings or chieftains. Failure to participate was believed to result in punishment from the gods, usually illness or death.


There was also a military aspect to Samhain in Ireland, with holiday thrones prepared for commanders of soldiers. Anyone who committed a crime or used their weapons during the celebration faced a death sentence.

Some documents mention six days of drinking alcohol to excess, typically mead or beer, along with gluttonous feasts.

Myths of Samhain​

One of the most popular Samhain stories told during the festival was of “The Second Battle of Mag Tuired,” which portrays the final conflict between the Celtic pantheon known as the Tuatha de Danann and evil oppressors known as the Fomor. The myths state that the battle unfolded over the period of Samhain.

One of the most famous Samhain-related stories is “The Adventures of Nera,” in which the hero Nera encounters a corpse and fairies, and enters into the Otherworld.

Samhain figured into the adventures of mythological Celtic hero Fionn mac Cumhaill when he faced the fire-breathing underworld dweller Aillen, who would burn down the Hall of Tara every Samhain.

Samhain also figures into another Fionn mac Cumhaill legend, where the hero is sent to the Land Beneath the Wave. As well as taking place on Samhain, it features descriptions of the hero’s holiday gatherings.

Samhain in the Middle Ages​

As the Middle Ages progressed, so did the celebrations of the fire festivals. Bonfires known as Samghnagans, which were more personal Samhain fires nearer the farms, became a tradition, purportedly to protect families from fairies and witches.

Carved turnips called Jack-o-lanterns began to appear, attached by strings to sticks and embedded with coal. Later Irish tradition switched to pumpkins.

Halloween is mostly a western custom and it has no direct reference in the Bible but perhaps the best to understand ow Halloween relates to te Bible is to look at its meaning and how it is celebrated
There are several questions that we should ask ourselves:
1.Is the holiday uplifting spirtually?
2.I Halloween pure?
3.Does it give praise to God?
4.Is it generally of a good report?
Phiippians4:8 says"Finally brethren whatever things are true whatever things are noble, what ever things areof good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy meditte on these. things.
Is Halloween based on themes such as peace, freedom and salvation?On the contrary the holiday to mind feeings of fear oppression and bondage.The Bible does not sanction witchcrat ,witches and socery On the contrary the Bible makes it clear that these pratices are an abomination unto the Lord.
With this thought in mind Christians should refrain from participating in this holiday.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful work of darkness,but rather expose them.Based on historical records Halloween was incorporated into church holy days but God is calling the church to come out from among them and be separate Do no touch what is unclean2 Corinthians 6 :17.
Of course I realize that Halloween is a very controversial topic for Christians but personally I do not thinka Christian should go furer than home decor ,Art and Craft at School or giving candies or goodies to kids.

Most mortal men, would not even realize that this has occured. In the days of old, the windows used to remain unlocked and opened, thinking that the Almighty through the Angels, would come to our ancestors windows, and eat the offerings off of the pane. The Celtics and those that believed in the Leprechauns used to do the very same thing. They would pray that their days were to remain long, their field overflowed with bushels of grain, their cattle would produce much milk and woman's wombs would bear much fruit. Praying always for the wealth that comes from family. In the old days, they would have truly written upon their windows and doorposts, and the angel of death and its minions would surely pass. what ever happened to those days. Whatever happened to those days!!
