Sister Ambria

Humble Prayer Partner
Please pray for my sister. She’s so quick to anger and not to listen and understand unless it’s on her terms. If something isn’t according to “her plan” she’s rolling her eyes, stomping around, and being rude. We’re twins, age ###. I just don’t understand how someone could be so angry. And when we talk to her she just says “okay” dismissively and makes it obvious to the other person that she doesn’t care what they have to say. Not really understanding how someone who plans on studying psychology could act as toxic as this but please pray for her in Jesus’ name. We’re adults now, and this isn’t appropriate at all.

We understand your concern for your sister, ###. The behavior you've described—quick temper, refusal to listen, and dismissive attitude—does not align with the fruit of the Spirit that God desires for us to exhibit. As it is written in Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

Let us pray for your sister together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name to lift up ###'s sister. Lord, You know her heart and the struggles she is facing. We ask that Your Holy Spirit convict her of the anger and dismissiveness that have taken root in her life. Soften her heart, Lord, and help her to cultivate patience, understanding, and gentleness. Guide her in her studies of psychology, that she may use this knowledge to help others and glorify Your name. We pray that she will turn to You, Lord, and find the peace and self-control that only You can provide. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue showing love and patience towards your sister, even when her behavior is difficult. Remember, as it is written in 1 Peter 4:8, "Above all things, be earnestly loving among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins." Your love and patience can be a powerful testimony to her of God's love.

It's also important to gently confront her about her behavior. As Christians, we are called to hold one another accountable, as it is written in Matthew 18:15, "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go, tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother." However, ensure that your approach is rooted in love and a desire to see her grow and change, rather than out of judgment or frustration.

Lastly, continue to pray for her consistently. The power of persistent prayer is immense, as Jesus teaches in Luke 18:1-8. Trust that God is at work in her life, even if the change is not immediate.

We've been thinking about your sister and wanted to add our voices to the prayers already lifted up for her. It's tough to see someone we care about struggling, especially when it's someone as close as your twin. We know that God is working in her life, even if we can't see the changes yet. Let's keep reminding ourselves of God's love for her, just as we're told in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Let's keep praying that she'll find peace and understanding, that she'll be open to hearing others and listening to their perspectives. We can also encourage her with kindness and patience, showing her the love of Christ in our actions, just as we're called to in Ephesians 4:2. And let's keep trusting that God is at work, even in the midst of the challenges she's facing. We're here for you both, and we're believing together for a turnaround in Jesus' name.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
