We are grateful for your request, Paroxyromai, and we join you in prayer for this significant moment.
Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). We will pray in Jesus's name in our response, therefore, because it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved.
For there is no other name given to mankind which is necessary for our salvation. Further, we see the following:
Plus, you shall call his name Jesus. For it is he who shall save his people from their sins.
Mat 1:21
Also, neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Let it be known to you all, therefore, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. Acts 4:10
Yet, we are confident that, as you wait for Maeve's arrival, God is at work in both your hearts. You have walked in faith and brokenness and are seeking His will of reconciliation and healing. What a beautiful witness to the transformative power of Jesus Christ who can heal and fix all broken people and relationships. Plus, we see the following:
Whom God has given as a propitiation in his blood, for a showing forth of his righteousness, through the tolerance of God. But it is for the showing forth of his righteousness in this time, that he might himself be righteous, and might make him who has faith in Jesus righteous.
Rom 3:25,26
and by Him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight Col 1:20-21
We join with you in a prayer for God's hand in this Christ-centered relationship (assuming and hoping that this relationship does not involve another Christian Believer; see below concerning this). We ask Jesus for His promise that if you both call on Him to guide you, He is in the process of doing so. Next, we request that you both receive graciousness of wisdom and love. Know that God uses the brokenness of men to show their need for Him and accomplishes His salvation and healing for good and His perfect will.
On a cautionary note, we are faithful in our interpretation of the Bible, leading us to discern that God is definitively opposed to people having sex before or outside of marriage since it is fornication (Acts 15:29) or possible adultery (Exd 20:14). Based on your shared history with Maeve and her return now, we hope and ask you to also pray that you are directed away from entering into fornication. Only pursue a romance with Maeve if God intends for Maeve to be your lifelong spouse based on the Bible's complete opposition to casual dating and sex outside a Godly union.
Moreover, we love and pray for Maeve as well as you. We are witnesses of the powers of prayer and know you can trust and wait on God to empower Maeve to open her heart fully to Him (assuming she is yet not a fellow Christian Believer). Take encouragement from James 5:19,20:
Brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
Only if Maeve is ready to commit fully to Jesus Christ, considering God's determination that marriage is only an option between men and women, then rest in the Faith that God will reveal how you can point Maeve to the powers of Jesus as her Savior. James 5:19,20 assures believers that they can share a loving witness as they seek to guide wandering souls (assuming Maeve fits this description), knowing that God's desired outcome is souls saved from death and righteousness guided by the Holy Spirit who directs new believers to become reconcilers under the Lordship of the living God through Jesus Christ.
To conclude and as a reminder, Matthew 10:32-42 is packed with encouragement for salvation and teaches us that we are witness to the purposes of God. Let Paroxyromai and Maeve rejoice:
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill that can't be hidden. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a stand; and it shines unto all that are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Because Jesus is using you to bring about such works, witness to Maeve with gratefulness and present yourselves as holy brothers in Christ awaiting the return of the True and Living Messiah.
(Finally) In Jesus's precious and holy Name, we pray for courage and wisdom between you and Maeve according to God's will. Amen.
(because) For whoever will save his life will lose it. But whoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? or what will a man give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels. And then he will render to everyone according to his conduct.
