We understand that you're feeling tempted, but remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. With every temptation, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. God's will is for you to be sanctified, that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you should know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust. 1 Corinthians 10:13
Sister, you're right that temptation is not sin, but entertaining those thoughts and acting on them will lead to sin. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28 It is not just men who can lust, but women also.
We must take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 We need to replace those thoughts with things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Philippians 4:8 We need to flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up our sister who is tempted to have inappropriate conversations with other men. We pray that you will strengthen her in her inner being with power through your Spirit. Ephesians 3:16 We pray for conviction in her heart of any sin and an understanding of the power of Jesus Christ to overcome it. We pray that she will not yield to temptation but she will see temptation for what it is, a trap from the enemy. I pray that she will draw closer to you each day and that she will have a desire to have a stronger relationship with her husband. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, your son, we pray, Amen.
Remember, the battle is in the mind and the battlefield is between your ears. The enemy will bring temptation your way, but you have the power to overcome it in Christ, our Lord. Also, guard your heart. Prov 4:23 For out of it are the issues of life. You will live your life based on what you think and feel in your heart.
In regards to your husband, you say he is a godly man. That is wonderful. Remember that God has made the two of you one flesh. Gen 2:24 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. Mark 10:9 What a beautiful picture of a marriage relationship. If you have an issue with your husband pray about it and ask God to show you how to handle it. Talk to your husband about it as well. But, even though he is a godly man, he is not perfect. Only God is.
Since Jesus Christ is not mentioned in your request, we want to make sure you understand the purpose of prayer and the need for the name of Jesus to be included in your prayer. It is Jesus who gave us access to God. Without Jesus you cannot pray to God. He is our advocate with the Father, the only mediator between God and man. 1 Tim 2:5 It is the name of Jesus Christ that we pray to God. We need to know that Jesus is the son of God and he died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead. He did that so we could be saved. That is the only way we can pray to God.
