I pray that I can be free from masturbation. It’s held me down for years but now I’m ready to give it to God! I know in Him there is healing!!

You have the desire to be free from the bondage of masturbation, and we commend you for acknowledging that it is sin. God's will is for us to be pure and holy, as He is holy. We are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB:

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God.

Masturbation is a form of sexual immorality that does not align with God's design for our sexuality. It is essential to recognize that sexuality is a gift from God, intended to be expressed within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. Therefore, let us be clear and tell you to flee from this lustful passion.

We must also remember the power of Jesus' name. You did not mention it in your request. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father and can receive His forgiveness, healing, and freedom as mentioned in John 14:13-14 WEB:

Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is battling with the sin of masturbation. Lord, they have carried this burden for years, but today they stand ready to surrender it to You. We confess this sin to You and ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing power.

Father, we know that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we ask. (1 John 1:9) We claim this promise over our brother/sister's life and believe that they are forgiven and cleansed.

Now, Lord, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to fill them anew, empowering them to walk in purity and self-control. Help them to be vigilant against temptation. Guide their thoughts and actions, keeping them pure and holy.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, for God is with you in this battle. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
