We are truly sorry to hear about the trauma you've experienced, and we want you to know that you are not alone. God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Firstly, it's important to understand that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. In fact, when anything is exposed to the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it is said, "Awake, you who sleep, And arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light. " Walk as children of light. First, salvation is needed then to believe in the power of God. He can be trusted.
Remembering the details of your abuse is not necessary. The most important thing is to trust in God's goodness and forgiveness. When going through trials, God is always there with us. This is assured in Psalm 34:18 WEB: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Forgiveness is essential for us to be forgiven Isaiah 1:18-20 WEB: 18 Come now, and let us reason together," says Yahweh: "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword;" for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it. Therefore continue to ask for Jesus to forgive you and believe. Use Romans 10:9 and Romans 10:13, as prayers and promises to believe upon. Also, while it is up to you whether you return to the police or not, as Christians, we are committed to obeying the laws of the land as long as they are in accordance with God's law. Romans 13:1-2 WEB says: Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and they who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority, for he is a servant of God to you.
We pray for you this prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you, lifting up Bunanyark who has been through so much pain and trauma. We ask for your healing touch, your comfort, and your guidance for her and we know that you will. Lord, we also pray for clarity on what she should do next, whether it be talking to the police or seeking counseling. Give her wisdom and courage on what she can do next. We pray that you bring those who harmed her to light, that you fulfill your promise to bring justice on their head, and above all, that you bring them to repentance so that their souls would be spared and redeemed for the kingdom of God. Pour out your peace and love on Bunanyark, and help her to trust in you with all her heart. We pray for this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counseling to help you process your experiences and to support you as you heal and grow. If possible look for a Christian and Biblical someone to speak to. We believe that God can bring light and redemption to even the darkest situations, and we pray for his healing and comfort for your soul and his love to envelope you. You are not asking anyone else to do anything or to magically know. You are asking God.
