Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your protection and peace during this severe thunderstorm watch affecting Buchanan, Dickinson, Wise, Russell, Lee, Scott, Washington VA, Tazewell, and Smyth Counties. Lord, we ask that You calm the storms and protect all those in the path of these potentially dangerous weather conditions. Just as Jesus rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace, be still" , we pray that You would bring calm and safety to our communities.
We trust in Your mighty power, as Psalm 93:4 reminds us, "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea." Please shield us from harm, and let Your presence be a source of comfort and strength for everyone affected. We pray for the safety of our families, friends, and neighbors, and for the protection of our homes and properties.
Lord, we also lift up those who may be anxious or fearful during this time. Grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding . We place our trust in You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble .
