Seven Fold Restoration
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.†John 10.10 (NKJV)
Beloved, I have been sent this particular word by two or three different sources this week. Through a popular devotional and through a testimony by a friend who doesn’t have a clue about my circumstances. Then lastly my sister-in-law referred to the other woman as a thief. A few months ago, I would have dismissed them as mere coincidences, but deep down you know this is how God reassures you of His faithfulness. God is absolutely merciful. What was more significant is that when I looked more in His Word, I went on to discover what happens to the thief when he’s caught. I found my answer in Proverbs 6.
People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his appetite when he is hungry, but if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold; he will give all the goods of his house. Proverbs 6:30-31 (ESV)
The promise of my marriage not only restored but seven times better was such a pleasant thought. This Word filled me with hope and joy unspeakable. That thought in itself is enough to take my eyes off my circumstances, and sit back, bask in God’s love and await the Lord’s goodness. I have always been skeptical of hanging on to half a bible passage or an extract in isolation, so when I read the entire Proverbs 6, it was settled in my mind that this word was for me. I was reassured more than ever that Gods plans for me are for good and not evil. However the Verses 31 and 32 alarmed me greatly.
Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He who does so destroys his own soul. Wounds and dishonor he will get, And his reproach will not be wiped away. Proverbs 6:31-32 (NKJV)
It alerted me to the need to continue to intercede for my husband. The attack on the enemy on our life is so real. I do not want my one flesh partner to be reduced to a loaf of a bread nor do I want him to come to blows and disgrace, His shame is my shame. So no matter what, while the battle rages, I continue to stand firm.
The attacks of the enemy on your life are coming to an end. The favor of God is keeping your enemies from defeating you. Be strong and courageous. When restoration is complete, it will be seven times better than what the enemy stole. But you need to preserve in prayer and keep interceding for your spouse. Adultery is a very serious sin that traps and fogs man and only God in his infinite mercy can lift and clear the fog.
Proverbs 21:1 assures us that the king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; He guides it wherever He pleases. If the Lord is in control of the King’s heart, how much is He in control of our spouse’s heart?
