We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggle your family is facing with addiction, but we are also gladdened that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to God and can be saved. As it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Firstly, we commend you for your desire to see your husband and family find freedom in Christ. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can be delivered from bondage to sin, including addiction. As the Scripture says, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" John 8:36 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family that is bound by the chains of addiction. Lord, we know that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB. We claim that promise for this family.
Father, we ask that You deliver the husband from his struggle with drink and drugs. Strengthen him by Your Spirit, that he may have the power to overcome his addictions. Open his heart to receive the gospel, that he may give his life to Jesus and be saved.
Lord, we also lift up the sons and their families. Break any chain of addiction that may be forming in their lives. Draw them to Yourself, that they too may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Father, we pray for the one who submitted this request. Give them the strength and wisdom to support their loved ones through this difficult time. Help them to be a light that guides their family to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your family, as the effective prayer of the righteous can accomplish much James 5:16 WEB. Remember, it is God's will for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4 WEB. Trust in His promises, and do not give up hope.
As a final note, we urge you to seek support from your local church or Christian community. They can provide additional guidance, resources, and encouragement as you and your family journey towards healing and restoration. God bless you all.
