We are truly sorry to hear about your dad Wayne's illness, Boudicca, and we will join you in prayer for his healing. First, we are glad you reached out to God and us in your time of need. Before we pray let us give you some scripture to hang on to.
First, we are commanded to pray in the name of Jesus. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth the man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved!
Likewise, the bible says the following:
Whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments.
With that in mind let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up Wayne to you. We ask that you heal him from these flu-like symptoms and restore his health. We know that you are the Great Physician and that nothing is impossible for you. We ask for your healing touch upon Wayne and your comfort for him during this time. We also pray for his family, that you would give them strength and peace as they support him.
Father, we also ask that you draw Wayne and his family closer to you during this time. We pray that they would know your love and presence in a deeper way and that they would trust in you completely. We pray for their salvation if they do not already know you as their savior.
If there is any reason why perhaps you feel you cannot heal him, or there is something blocking this healing, please let Boudicca know so that she can work on that and help him.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
During this time, we encourage you to continue praying and trusting in God. Remember that his ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts higher than our thoughts. Trust in him, and know that he loves you and your dad more than you can imagine.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
