Hello,

I would like to begin by stating that I am not without fault in our marriage... I have some personal shortcomings that really drive my husband crazy, ie time management and procrastination... I really need help deciding what to do.... We have been living in separate households for almost three years, but we maintain visitationon a weekly basis. I left because he does not speak to me like a human being, let alone a wife. I have tried not fighting and maintaining silence when he starts shouting, name calling, or bringing up every mistake, big or small, made by me during the 12 years we've known one another. I've tried changing my responses, shouting back... and now finally, we live apart. Through it all, I love him, which is why I don't want a divorce, but this process is really wearing both of us down. What kind of advice would you have for our situation. I am a Chritian, though I haven't been to church in 13 months. We need help. Thank you.

Lord I pray for healing for this couple. I pray that they would forgive each other and walk in Love. I pray that you lead them to a new local church. Lord I thank you that you are the God of new beginings. I pray that you would bring this couple back to the love of their youth for each other. Let them treat each other with kindness and speak to each other with love. I pray that you would restore to this couple all that the devil has stolen. I pray that they would speak of each others good points and not pick each other apart over weaknesses and short comings. For no one is perfect and there is no perfect marriage. Just a perfect God that is able to help us day by day with his love and grace. Have your way in their hearts Lord for we know you are the King of reconciliation in Jesus name I pray Amen

May the lord heal your marriage. Try to remember when he pushes your emotional buttons, do not take it personally. Nothing he says name calling, has anything to do with you it's all about him dealing with himself and his projections/insecurities. If someone calls me fatso, i don't take it personally because i know i'm not fat, unless i believe it to be so. The only reason we take this personally is personal importance. It's the maximum expression of selfishness, because we believe everything is about us when it's simply how the other person was domesticated, his opinions, values, etc. Even if someone puts a gun to my head, it's not personal even at that extreme. And some may say what he's saying is hurting me, it's not what that person says it's wounds he touches with his words, deep wounds that were never addressed or allowed to heal. It is why forgiveness is so important because when someone hurts you, they take power over you and the only way to overcome it is to forgive them. I pray the lord makes you stronger, thicker-skinned that nothing may penetrate your emotional armor.

I've been praying God would change my fiancé' heart but I think I'm at my breaking point. I know he's seen abuse and pain in his childhood and I've been trying to show him what love looks like but I can't take anymore. I hope one day he can let the pain and anger go but it's not worth my sanity...
