We understand your concerns for your daughter's future and well-being, and we will pray with you and provide biblical guidance. Remember, God's will and timing are perfect, and He has a plan for each of our lives, including your daughter's.
Let's first address your daughter recognizing her future spouse. In the Bible we are warned not to be unequally yoked.
`Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?` -2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB)
First we must pray that both your daughter and her future spouse will independently come to believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Praying for her future spouse should begin with this, and not just praying for God to send him to her.
`For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.` -1 Corinthians 7:14 (WEB)
`Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.` -Ephesians 5:22-23
Next let's address your daughters issue with health. We are reminded to take care of our physical bodies as they are a temple of the Holy Spirit:
`Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.` -1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (WEB)
Also we know that women are often judged by their looks and not their personality. This is wrong both for the one judging and the one being judged. Peter reminds us of our inner self and that is of great worth to God.
`Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; ` -1 Peter 3:3 (WEB)
`but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.` -1 Peter 3:4 (WEB)
Let us remember to pray for your daughter that she grows into this excellent description Peter provides. Let's pray for your daughter and her future spouse:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the daughter of the one who submitted this request. Lord, we pray that You will guide her steps and prepare her for her future husband. We pray for both of their salvation and growth in their faith. Prepare both of their hearts and minds. Give her wisdom and discernment to recognize the man You have chosen for her. We pray for her self-esteem and inner worth to be stronger than worldly judgements and comparisions.
We also pray for her physical health bring her realize she is happiest when she is healthy. Take away any laziness that causes her to turn to food for comort. Help her to gain great self control, to learn new habits and tum away from unhealthy habits. Give her Your joy Lord as she finds her value and strength in You. Help her find her inner strength, help her find friends that will be by her side, help her feel confident and encourage her to be better everyday. Help her find resources that will help her understand and learn better eating habits. Help her overcome any feelings of low self value or self worth till she doesn't need to turn to food for comfort.
