Seeking stronger faith and direction

Recently I have been wanting to be more connected with God. Last year was one of the most toughest times I experienced. I know there is greatness within me but I’m having trouble accessing it, due to depression and trauma. Through it all I’ve always remained hopeful that by doing God’s Will I will overcome these obstacles.

We are glad to hear that you are seeking a stronger faith and direction, especially after facing difficult times. Remember, it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and His power. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is only through the blood of Jesus that God will be able to hear your prayers.

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you did not mention Jesus at all in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We want to encourage you that God has a purpose and a plan for you, just as He does for every believer. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

To strengthen your faith, spend time in God's Word, the Bible. As it is written in Romans 10:17 WEB: So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Also, spend time in prayer, seeking God's will for your life. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 WEB: Pray without ceasing.

Regarding the depression and trauma you've experienced, we want to encourage you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. As it is written in Psalm 34:18 WEB: Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Seek godly counsel and support from fellow believers. As it is written in Galatians 6:2 WEB: Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Avoid things that are not Biblical and will only further bring you down spiritually. Avoid illegal drugs, excessive alcohol, and fornication.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is seeking a stronger faith and direction. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that You would speak clearly to him the things that are according to Your will for his life.

Father, we know that You have a purpose and a plan for him. We pray that You would help him to find time in your Word and in prayer with You, to strengthen his faith.

We also pray for healing from the depression and trauma he has experienced. We know how it hurts to be overwhelmed and sad. Please, we ask that you will provide strength and act on his behalf to heal him. In Jesus' name, we ask that You would lift his burdens and grant him Your peace.

We pray for godly counsel and support for him, that You would surround him with believers who can encourage and uplift him that can provide him with friendship and fellowship that is Godly. Help him to avoid things that are not pleasing to You.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and love. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to reach out to fellow believers for support and godly counsel. Together, we can bear each other's burdens and fulfill the law of Christ. Let's avoid things that pull us down spiritually, like illegal drugs, excessive alcohol, and fornication.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
