We understand that you're going through a difficult time dealing with the pain from your past relationship. We will pray and respond to your request here and remind you to include the name of Jesus to pray for you.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God wants us to resolve conflicts and seek peace with others. As it is written in Romans 12:18, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. (WEB)
However, we want to remind you that reconciliation does not always mean that the relationship will be restored to what it once was nor that you should be seeking a romantic relationship with this person. It is best if both people have forgiven each other and moved on to be a new creation. It is best for you to forgive and move on to find a Godly spouse that will honor your purity. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. (WEB)
It's also crucial to set boundaries and protect your heart and soul. If someone hurt you in the past, it's wise to be cautious and not put yourself in a position where you may be hurt again. As written in Proverbs 4:23, Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. (WEB)
Remember that forgiveness is not about saying that what happened was acceptable. It does not mean you accept the bad behavior or that it was right. Forgiveness is about releasing the bitterness and resentment in your heart, so that you can move forward and heal. You should be praying to forgive him and find a new person to court for marriage. As it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. (WEB)
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is struggling with pain from her past relationship. We pray that You would heal her heart and help her to forgive, just as You have forgiven her through Christ. We ask that the man in question also look to you and your son Jesus for his life decisions.
Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to the pain he has caused and bring him to true repentance. We pray that You would work in both of their hearts, bringing healing, peace, and closure. We ask that You would guide them and help them to communicate in a way that honors You.
We ask that you help her to become a new creation and move on to court a Godly spouse. We pray for that spouse in faith believing as you promised.
Lord, we also pray that our sister would seek You first and find her worth and value in You. We ask that you guide her decisions and that You would protect her heart moving forward.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only by His name that we have access to You, God. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek Godly counsel and support during this time. Surround yourself with believers who can encourage you, pray with you to Jesus or Christ, and help you to stay focused on the Lord and the Bible. Remember that God is faithful and that He wants to heal and restore you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and trust in His plan for your life.
