What was Jesus' core message in the bible?
Was His main message strictly about the gospel of His life, death and resurrection, or was there something more? Now remember I'm emphasizing on 'His key' message and I am in no way suggesting that His life, death, and resurrection wasn't important. They most certainly were important.
Mark 1:14:
“Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 9:35
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom.
While finishing preaching in a certain area to the people, Jesus intended to leave but the people tried to persuade Him to stay. Here is what He said:
Luke 4:43.
“I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent."
Preaching the Kingdom of God is why Jesus was sent here on earth. How important can this Kingdom message be?
Matthew 6:33:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
He is instructing us to seek first the Kingdom because it is pivitol and critical to our well-being. Nothing will be added without placing God's Kingdom and His righteousness first.
What or where is the Kingdom?
“If it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:20
“Behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” Luke 17:21
First, the kingdom of God is in the hearts of His people who triumphs over sin, Satan, and eternal death. His people reigns through Christ here on earth. We are not to be inert but actively pursue our Lord's mission here on earth - our great commission. Secondly and foremost, the kingdom refers to the new earth and heaven, the Kingdom of God.
Jesus lived His life as an example for us. He died for our sins and resurrected so we can live in the Kingdom of God. Jesus earthly ministry leads to the Kingdom of God. If the Kingdom is inside your heart then the Father has prepared a mansion for you.
