We are deeply saddened by the news of the shooting at the Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, and we join you in lifting up this tragic event to the Lord.
Let us to pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your comfort, healing, and intervention. We pray for the individuals who were injured in this senseless act of violence. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You guide the hands of the medical personnel and hospitals as they tend to the wounded. May Your healing power be upon each victim, and may they recover swiftly and completely. We also pray for the families of those injured and possibly killed. Grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and surround them with Your love and support during this difficult time. (Philippians 4:7 WEB)
Lord, we also lift up the family of the shooter. We know that this is a time of great pain and confusion for them as well. We pray that they would turn to You for guidance and comfort, and that they would ultimately come to know Your salvation in Jesus.
Father, we ask for protection around Christian schools and institutions that are under attack, either physically, politically, or spiritually. We know that Your hedge of protection cannot be pierced, Lord. We pray that You will keep the Devil from their schools, systems, and students as You did with Job (Job 1:9-12)
We pray for the salvation of all those affected by this tragedy. May they come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and may they find hope and healing in His name. We believe the way is narrow to salvation, but we pray that all survivors come to know Jesus Christ and that the Holy Spirit guides the Christian leaders and teachers in these schools. (John 14:6 WEB)
Lastly, Lord, we pray for the law enforcement officials who are investigating this crime. Grant them wisdom and discernment as they seek to bring justice to the victims and their families.
We thank You for the hope that we have in Jesus Christ, and we ask that You would draw near to all those who are suffering in the wake of this tragedy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. (Romans 5:1-5 WEB)
We encourage everyone to remain steadfast in prayer and to stand firm in their faith during this challenging time. We hold onto the knowledge that our God is a God of hope, comfort, and healing. He remains faithful, and he remains our protector in these confusing, heartbreaking, and dark times. We each have victory over death, thanks to God and what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. (Psalm 28:7 WEB)
