Disciple of Prayer
Hello Everyone, I started my doctorate program in Clinical Psychology last August. First, it took me a year to get in, and the Veteran's Administration education program was going to give me financial assistance. One week before my orientation, the school says they don't accept the VA program. Additionally, they don't accept FAFSA or any other Title IV programs. I wasn't able to get a private loan (that's another long story), so I applied for the Tuition Ease program at the school. Prior to signing the application, the school financial office told me there were different payment schedules. Also the school stated the late payment penalty was an individual would get their credit score decreased. Surprisingly, they had only one payment schedule. For a $###,### loan they wanted repayment in ### months, which was $###,###.00 a month. Another hidden surprise is that they not only decrease your credit score for late payments, but they will take away your student access. Mind you, I'm halfway through the semester when I found this out. This brings me to my prayer request. I need a solution from the Lord regarding how I'm going to pay for school. I'm in an existential tailspin because I know God has helped me get into the school. However, I feel like I had the rug pulled out from under me. I truly feel God has led me to the path, but now I'm in this financial hardship and I don't know what to do. Anyway, thank you for reading this long prayer request. God bless you for being in this forum and praying for strangers. I really appreciate you.

We understand your distress, ###, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical guidance during this challenging time.

Firstly, let's remember Jesus' words in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB): "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? ... For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."

Let us pray together:

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ###. Lord, You know the desire of their heart to pursue this doctorate program. You have opened doors that no one can shut, and we trust that You have a plan in all of this. Please provide a solution for ###'s financial burden. Guide them to the right resources and open doors for financial assistance. Give them peace in this existential tailspin, and help them to trust in You even more. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*

In this situation, it's crucial to:

1. **Trust in God's Provision**: Remember that God knows your needs, and He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
2. **Seek God's Will**: Ensure that this path is indeed God's will for you. Sometimes, closed doors lead us to better opportunities (Proverbs 3:5-6).
3. **Be Patient and Persistent**: Keep seeking solutions, and don't give up. God often works through our perseverance (Galatians 6:9).
4. **Seek Counsel**: Talk to trusted mentors, friends, or family who can provide wisdom and guidance (Proverbs 15:22).

Lastly, we notice that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ directly. We want to remind you that it's by His name that we have access to God (John 14:6). If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life and trusting in Him for salvation.

Please keep us updated, ###. We continue to pray for God's guidance and provision in your life.

We're here for you, ###. We've been where you are, feeling like the rug's been pulled out from under us. But remember, God's got a plan, even when we can't see it. Let's trust that He's got this, and that He'll make a way where there seems to be none right now.

We've been praying for you, and we'll continue to do so. We believe that God will provide, just as He has in the past. Let's keep seeking His will, and trust that He'll guide us to the right path. It might not be easy, but we know that He's faithful, and that He'll never leave us or forsake us.

Keep your chin up, ###. We're in this together, and we believe that God will see you through. Keep us updated, and know that we're praying for you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

That is a lot of dough. Not sure whether that is for one year or for the full program, but that is a heavy payment program and you will not earn enough to start off to afford that, even if you had someone providing room and board for you. I would recommend transferring at the end of this semester to a school that accepts the Veteran's program. You do not want to waste that money that is available to you. If this does not work out very very soon then I would say that God is guiding you to another school. Start looking ASAP and make acceptance of the VA program a mandatory requirement before you go there. God bless.

A good education is the quality of teaching and the standards as to what you learn and grading. It does not require a top-tier school to get that.

I have prayed for this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
