We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles with schizophrenia and the constant fears and intrusive thoughts you've been experiencing. We want you to know that God cares deeply for you and wants to help you through this difficult time.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). It's possible that you're experiencing spiritual warfare when you try to pray. But God is always with us and he has given us authority over the enemy.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Whenever you feel attacked, remember that God is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You can call on Him at any time, and He will hear you.
We also want to encourage you to put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand (Ephesians 6:13). This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17).
Regarding your family situation, we want to remind you that God loves you and wants you to be free from abuse and trauma.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
We urge you to seek help from local authorities, trusted friends, or support groups if your family's abuse becomes unbearable. God wants you to be safe and live in peace.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with schizophrenia and constant fear. We pray for Your healing touch upon their life, Lord. We ask that You would break the chains of mental illness and bring peace to their mind and heart.
We rebuke any spiritual attacks that may be happening when they try to pray. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also pray for their family situation. Lord, we ask that You would bring conviction to the hearts of their family members and that the abuse would stop. We pray for healing and restoration in their family, Lord.
Thank you, Lord for your Word, You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7).
Finally, we pray that they would come to know You more deeply through this trial and that they would find their strength and hope in You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and seeking God, even when it's difficult. You mentioned that you listened to a prayer on YouTube, but we want to remind you that prayer is simply talking to God from your heart. The power of prayer comes from the Holy Spirit working in us and it is the name of Jesus that allows us to have access to God. You can call on Him anytime, anywhere.
"If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)
"And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:21)
