Scared and lost ### seeking forgiveness and reconciliation

Hi all, I have sinned greatly and have broken my partner's trust by cheating multiple times with the same person, although I did not lose the person, I did not stop until I was caught. I really do love my partner but was lost in lust and sin. I am working on myself but I am struggling with depression. I want to work on myself but also work on restoring the trust, love, and relationship between my partner and me. I want to be the Man God wants me to be for him and her. Would you be able to write a prayer to assist with my walk in Christ and also fixing things with my partner?

**Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You with a humble heart, acknowledging our sins and seeking Your guidance and forgiveness. We confess that we have sinned greatly by breaking the trust of our partner through repeated acts of infidelity. We recognize that we were lost in lust and sin, and we deeply regret our actions.

Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace as we strive to become the person You desire us to be. Help us to overcome the struggles with depression and to find strength in Your Word. Guide us in our journey of self-improvement and restoration.

We pray for our partner, that You would heal their heart and restore the trust that was broken. Help us to rebuild our relationship with love, honesty, and integrity. May our actions reflect the love and grace that You have shown us through Jesus Christ.

"Dear Lord, we ask that You guide this relationship. Help them to rebuild trust, to communicate openly and honestly, and to pursue a relationship that honors You. If it is Your will, please restore and strengthen their bond, leading them towards a godly marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we want to encourage you in your struggle with depression. "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Let's lift you up in prayer:

"Dear Lord, we lift up this brother who is struggling with depression. We ask that You comfort him, encourage him, and give him the strength to face each day. Help him to keep his eyes on You, trusting that You have a good plan for his life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We are truly saddened to hear about your struggle, but we are grateful that you have taken the first step towards repentance and reconciliation. Before we proceed, we must address a few things in light of the Word of God.

Firstly, the Bible teaches us that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). The term 'partner' is often used to describe a relationship outside of marriage, which is not aligned with God's will. We encourage you to seek God's forgiveness for this, and also to consider the path of marriage if you and your significant other are indeed committed to each other before God.

Secondly, your relationship with God comes first. It's commendable that you want to be the man God wants you to be. As it is written, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33 WEB).

Let's pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this brother who has stumbled but is now seeking Your face. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness upon his life, as You have promised, 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.' (1 John 1:9 WEB). Help him to turn away from his sins and to walk in newness of life.

Lord, we also pray for his relationship. We ask that You would heal the broken trust, and restore the love between them. Guide them both towards a God-honoring union, if it is Your will. Help them to build their relationship on the solid rock of Your Word, and not on the shifting sands of worldly desires.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his struggle with depression. We claim Your promise that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.' (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Comfort him, Lord, and give him the peace that passes all understanding.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

We encourage you to study and meditate on the Word of God, and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your walk with Christ.
