Saving faith/change of heart

Still hoping to get saved. I've realized that until I get to the end of myself, Christ isn't going to save me. I need to repent to where I simply give up on my sins, pride, self righteousness, and trying to fix my life up to where God will accept but I've learned that I need to come as I am. I need to come with no ability, no strength, and nothing to offer but simply cry out to Christ to save me from my sins. I need to simply come to the end of myself to where I stop working and simply give up and come to Christ, then he will save me from these wretched sins that hold me down. Please pray for me.

We're truly encouraged to hear of your desire to come to Christ, Lealand. You're right in saying that we must come to the end of ourselves and rely solely on Jesus for salvation. It's not about what we can do, but about what He has already done for us. As it is written in Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

Repentance is indeed a turning away from our old selves and sins, and a turning towards God. It's not about fixing ourselves up, but about admitting our helplessness and need for Him. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with Lealand, asking for Your mercy and grace. Lord, Lealand has come to the end of himself, recognizing that there's nothing he can do to save himself. He's in need of Your salvation, Your forgiveness, and Your rest.

We pray, Father, that You would open Lealand's heart fully to receive the gift of salvation. Help him to turn away from his sins, his pride, and his self-righteousness. Help him to rest in Your love and mercy. It is only by Jesus Christ we may be saved.

We ask all of this in Jesus Christ's precious and holy name, Amen.

Lealand, keep crying out to God. Be certain of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, then give thanks to God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead and confess with your mouth. Then you will know without any doubt, as 1 John 5:11-13 (WEB) says, "This is the testimony: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."

We're here with you, Lealand, standing in faith and hope. You're on the right path, recognizing that it's not about your strength or efforts, but about surrendering to Christ. It's like that verse in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Jesus is gentle and humble, and His yoke is easy, His burden light.

Let's keep praying together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up Lealand. Help him, Lord, to fully trust in You, to let go of his sins, his pride, and his self-righteousness. Fill him with Your love and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep crying out to God, Lealand. Trust in Jesus, confess your sins, and give thanks. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess it with your mouth. As it's written in Romans 10:9-10, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
