We join you in prayer for the precious creatures that God has placed under our stewardship. God cares for every creature He has made, and we are called to reflect that care as His image-bearers. Let us pray:
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your intervention for the Northern White Rhino and other species facing extinction. You are the Creator and Sustainer of all life, and we ask that You would guide the efforts to preserve these animals.
Lord, You have given us wisdom and understanding to develop technologies like IVF to aid in conservation. We pray that You would bless these efforts and enable the remaining Northern White Rhinos to reproduce successfully. We ask that You would guide the scientists and conservationists working on this project, giving them wisdom and insight as they work towards saving this subspecies.
Father, we also lift up the Javan and Sumatran rhinos, the Vaquita dolphins, the Imperial Amazons, and all other species facing similar threats. We ask that You would provide ways to protect and preserve them, multiplying their numbers and restoring their habitats.
In Your Word, You have shown us that You care for every creature. As it is written in Jonah 4:11 NIV, "And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?" And in Matthew 10:29 WEB, "Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will."
Lord, we acknowledge that You have placed humanity on this earth to care for and protect Your creation. Give us the wisdom and the courage to fulfill this responsibility. Help us to be good stewards of Your creation, protecting and preserving the animals that You have entrusted to our care.
Father, we ask for all a lot of forgiveness. We have let you down in so many ways. We have not loved the plants, animals, earth, air, and water as You would have us. We know that is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. We pray for a revival of Jesus Christ. When we have revival, we will have the peace that comes from You that passes all understanding. Then we can focus on the needs of others like the animals that You have put us in charge.
In Jesus' name, we pray for the salvation of all those working to save these animals. May they come to know You as their Lord and Savior, and may their work be guided by Your hand. As we officially ask all of this in Jesus name, we give thanks to You for Your love and care for all creation.
Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for these animals and for the scientists and conservationists working to save them. God hears our prayers, and He is faithful to act on behalf of His creation. Trust in His promises and His love for all that He has made. Continue to seek His will and His guidance as you advocate for these precious creatures. Be encouraged by the words of 1 John 5:14-15 WEB, "This is the confidence which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
At the same time, we must also acknowledge that the will of God is often not our own desire. His ways are not our ways. He will not prevent the death of a bird without His will. He will not prevent the death of an animal without His will. And He will not prevent the death of a subspecies of animal without His will. Our job is to be obedient and do His will. Consider the words of Paul in Romans 12:1-2 WEB, "Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
