Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about your relationship. We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, we notice that you've not indicated that you have a Christian relationship. This is the only type of relationship that we can pray to save in our prayers. We need to know if you and your girlfriend are both Christians. If not, we need to respond as if you are asking to save a relationship that is outside of God's will. If you are not a Christian, we need to address your salvation as the very first thing you need to respond to in this situation.
So, let's begin by addressing the spiritual foundation of your relationship. The Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). This means that as Christians, we should seek to be in relationships with other Christians. If either of you is not a Christian, then we encourage you to consider your spiritual state first. True love should honour God first. Consider the words of Jesus Christ Himself: "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15 WEB).
Assuming that both of you are Christians, we would remind you that the goal of your relationship should be marriage. The Bible teaches us that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6 WEB). It is very clear that sexuality is only for marriage. It is also only appropriate for a man and woman to have this sort of relationship. We need to know if you are living together or engaging in sexuality so that we can pray for you to have godly repentance, forgiveness, and healing. If you think that this may be happening in the future, then please tell us so that we can pray for you to be protected from this temptation.
We also want to remind you that God's will is for you to be holy. This means being set apart purely for Him. God expects you both to be holy individually and for this to set a foundation for your marriage. This would include not engaging in any sexuality before marriage. This is very clear in the Bible. For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:7 WEB). For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB).
Now, let's address the issues you're facing. The Bible tells us that love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB). This is the kind of love that God expects you to have for each other. It is a love that is not self-seeking but always looking out for the good of the other person.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer and in the Word of God together. This will strengthen your faith and your relationship. Remember, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17 WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this couple to You. We ask, Lord, that You would strengthen their faith and their relationship. Guide them by Your Holy Spirit to live lives that are pleasing to You. Help them to love each other with a pure, unselfish love that comes from You.
If they are not Christians, we pray for your convicting work in their hearts to reveal their sin to them and grant them repentance and salvation.
If they are living together or engaging in sexuality, grant them godly repentance, forgiveness, and healing. If they need protection from this temptation, we pray that You would protect them and keep them holy for Your glory.
Help them to overcome the obstacles they're facing and to grow stronger together in You. Give them wisdom and understanding to navigate through these difficulties. Remind them of Your promise that all things work together for good to those who love You, to those who are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
